Camphor Oil

Camphor is a waxy, white or transparent solid with a strong, aromatic odor. It is found in wood of the camphor laurel (Cinnamomum camphora), a large evergreen tree found in Asia (particularly in Borneo and Taiwan). Camphor is used for varied purposes including for its scent and for medicinal and industrial applications and it is also a commonly used and well-established folk and herbal remedy.   Camphor oil is readily absorbed through the skin and produces a feeling of cooling similar to that of menthol and the oil is thought to have many therapeutic properties that can produce beneficial and positive effects which help contribute to its popularity as an herbal remedy.
